NJ Art Association
President's Message

Hello, MSHAC members,

What's in a name? A lot, it seems.

I constantly try to recruit new artists into our group, and constantly hear the same two questions: “Where is the center located?” and “Do I have to live in Millburn or Short Hills to be a member?” Our organization’s name, though it’s been in use for decades, is confusing and misleading. Over the years, it has probably discouraged a number of artists from joining us.

The MSHAC board, having struggled with that problem, has decided to adopt a name that better reflects who we are, an association of exhibiting artists from New Jersey. After months of deliberation, the board has concluded that MSHAC should become the New Jersey Art Association, with the website www.njartassoc.org.

In the coming months we will be updating our website, announcements, prospectuses and other documents to reflect the name change.

While our name and logo will be changing, our commitment to scheduling shows for our members will not. That is and will always be our main focus. So stay inspired and keep painting. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming show.

All the best.

Mike Dziomba, President

The New Jersey Art Association board
